Living in Rome for five weeks is one of the great perks of working with The Gabii Project. Once the center of the known world, the city has maintained this ancient identity even as it has evolved to match the standards of modernity. Now a bastion of culture spanning millennia, Rome provides unparalleled access to countless famous churches, basilicas, piazzas, fountains, ruins, museums and more, alongside some of the best shopping and cuisine in the world.
During the field program, Students live in Trastevere, one of Rome’s hottest neighborhoods with a spirited nightlife, great food, and easy access to all major areas of the city. A short tram ride will bring you to The Imperial Fora, passing Torre Argentina along the way, The Vatican is just north of the residences, and several major attractions including the Campo de’ Fiori, Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain, and the Spanish Steps are all within easy walking distance.
Housing is arranged through our partners at Accent International. Students are housed in spacious apartments, with up to four rooms and three students per room. All accommodations have wifi, modern kitchen appliances, and washing machines, and many have balconies and televisions. 24/7 logistical support is also available.
